From Emily Roots:

I’ve had a wonderful experience taking piano lessons with Cherise these last 7 months. I played the piano as a child, but quit around the time I entered high school. With more time for hobbies as an adult I decided to pick it back up again, but found it a bit challenging once I hit a certain level on my own. Cherise quickly ascertained what level I was playing at and set me up with music that was challenging but achievable. She continues to pick out enjoyable music to prevent music from becoming boring or repetitive. She is able to deliver feedback in a clear, constructive way that makes learning new pieces easier and correcting bad habits possible. I have improved so much since studying with her from sight reading, to my ear for rhythm, to playing at a faster tempo, playing in different key signatures, artistry, using the correct fingering as I play and more. Just recently I was able to move up a level in books and have surpassed my goals for a casual piano player by a mile. Along the way, Cherise makes learning the piano fun and accessible in a safe environment where mistakes are seen as learning opportunities (much needed for my perfectionist tendencies). It is never too late to return to or pick up a new skill!

From Dawn Slifka:

We had two daughters that took piano lessons with Cherise for 10 years and I cannot emphasize how wonderful a teacher she is. We did a lot of research in finding a piano teacher for our girls when they were in elementary school. We wanted someone who had good credentials and was good with children. When we met Cherise at her studio, she was a prefect fit for our girls and they flourished as pianists under her teaching. Cherise has a unique talent in that she can work with young, beginning students all the way through highly advanced musicians. She provides young musicians a fun and encouraging environment while developing the skills and theory needed to advance. As the student advances, she provides them opportunities to excel through recitals and Syllabus exams providing them with the necessary knowledge and support to succeed. Cherise is a remarkable teacher who is vested in each student. Our girls loved her and were so sad once they graduated from high school because they weren’t going to see her on a weekly basis but they developed a life-long love and appreciation of the piano, sitting down to play when they are home for visits.

From the Gunther family:

Ms Cherise has been an incredible teacher to our 8-year old. It’s obvious that she’s extremely passionate about teaching. She is so much fun, but is also professional, patient, and encouraging. She provides easy to follow lesson plans and communicates exactly what we need to know at each stage of his development. We’re amazed at how far our son has progressed in just over a year, and he absolutely loves his time with Ms. Cherise and his daily practice. Thank you Ms Cherise for shaping our son’s journey with music into one of joy!

From Rekha Nair:

Both our kids aged 12 and 10 have been taking piano lessons from Ms. Cherise for the last 6 years. Ms Cherise has not only taught them the fundamentals and theory of piano, but has also taught them to love music. Her immense patience to work with the kids has helped them to relax and gain confidence. That is why we have continued to still send the children to learn from Ms. Cherise, even after we moved to a new home farther away.

From Sarah and Robert Lausevic:

We have been in Cherise’s studio for seven years. My daughter started taking lessons when she was seven, while my son started taking lessons when he was ten. Cherise is very gentle and encouraging and she really knows how to tailor to each of her students’ needs in order for them to learn and perform at their best.  We cannot recommend Cherise’s instruction highly enough!
